Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel has announced the appointment of Saeid Heidari, a veteran hospitality professional, as its new general manager.

He will be responsible for “strengthening the premier position of Doha’s iconic hotel and driving its growth in regional and international markets”, according to a press statement. Heidari has 28 years of experience in luxury hospitality, and brings in-depth insights on key industry trends, which will enable Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel to identify new opportunities, expand its brand reach, and ensure enhanced and memorable experiences for guests, the statement noted.

“I am delighted with the opportunity to join this landmark hotel. My focus will be to further strengthen its brand appeal, and to ensure the highest standards of guest service,” he said.

Heidari is not new to Doha and has earlier served as general manager of Doha Marriott Hotel, where he played an instrumental role in redefining the hotel’s food & beverage offering, and establishing it as preferred destination for food lovers. He launched the brunch and JW Steakhouse, which won the F&B Awards of Excellence (Best F&B Marriott International) in 2008. From Doha, he moved to Mumbai to manage the Renaissance Convention Centre Hotel & Marriott Executive Apartment, the largest hotel complex in India with 777 rooms. Born in Iran, Heidari grew up in Germany where he studied chemistry and law.
