SUBWAY Saudi Arabia hosts charity initiatives in conjunction with Prince Sultan Social and Cultural Center and Ensan Charity Association

SUBWAY restaurants in Saudi Arabia, part of the world’s largest submarine sandwich franchise, organized a series of charitable initiatives in the Kingdom for over 116 children as part of its community outreach activities.
SUBWAY restaurants collaborated with Dammam-based ‘Prince Sultan Social and Cultural Centre’ for the event that saw the senior management and staffmembers from the SUBWAY restaurants in Dammam welcoming over 66 children. During the meet, nutritionally balanced meals comprising a variety of fresh sandwiches and delicious cookies from SUBWAY restaurants, as well as dates, water and soft drinks were offered to the children.
In Riyadh, SUBWAY Saudi Arabia partnered with Ensan Charity Association to host 50 children along with their supervisors at the SUBWAY restaurants branch in Oalya. Romulo Vargas, Area Manager, SUBWAY restaurants in Saudi Arabia, directed the eveningalong with staff members from the Oalya outlet.

SUBWAY Saudi Arabia has initiated and organized several events and community-related campaigns. A campaign to clean up the shores was conducted last April that mobilised the participation of more than 150 employees as well as senior management. The Corniche Beach in Jeddah and the Western Region, as well as the beaches in Dammam and Khobar in the Eastern Province were some of the target areas for the campaign.
SUBWAY® Saudi Arabia has obtained a certificate for ‘The Ambassador of Healthy Food for 2009’ from the Ministry of Health in the Kingdom. In addition, in recognition of SUBWAY restaurants’ effective participation in the campaign carried out by the Directorate General of Health Affairs to raise health awareness among the communities in Saudi Arabia, SUBWAY restaurants was also named ‘Ambassador of Healthy Education’ by the World Health Organization in Riyadh.
The SUBWAY chain recently became the largest submarine sandwich franchise in the Arab world with more than 250 restaurants in some of the most important locations. It currently boasts 106 stores in the UAE, 47 in Kuwait, 45 in Saudi Arabia, 17 in Qatar, 11 each in Jordan and Bahrain, nine in Oman, four in Egypt and five in Lebanon.
During 2010 in the Zagat Fast Food Survey, the SUBWAY restaurants brand was ranked first in the ‘Most Popular’, ‘Top Service’ and ‘Healthy Options’ categories for food brands with 5,000 or more locations.
