Tamkeen appointed a number of citizens as representatives of its Community Engagement Initiative, which seeks to boost direct communication with the public and improve the services that Tamkeen provides through its various programmes. The new appointments bring the total number of representatives to 17.

Under the Community Engagement Initiative, Tamkeen trains and assigns a number of citizens across the five Bahraini governorates to serve as official representatives in their areas. Officially nominated by a number of youth, social, and charity organisations, these representatives introduce Tamkeen’s various programmes to the public, provide guidance on the programmes that best serve their purposes, and convey people's opinions and suggestions to the concerned Tamkeen departments.

Mr. Yousif Ali, Senior Manager of Customer Engagement and Support in Tamkeen, commented on the announcement: "Tamkeen always works to find efficient solutions and channels to reach out to the public. One of these solutions is the appointment of local representatives with extensive connections that are capable of explaining to the public the solutions that Tamkeen offers to meet people’s needs and conveying their feedback to Tamkeen. Given the success of this initiative, Tamkeen is coordinating with a number of government and civil society organisations, which includes the five governorates, the Ministry of Social Development and the General Organisation for Youth and Sports to increase the number of representatives to 45 by the end of this year."

For his part, Ibrahim Abdullah, a representative of the initiative and vice-chair of Al-Hidd Charity Fund, said: "On behalf of the representatives, I would like to convey that we are glad to serve as Tamkeen representatives in our local communities. We look forward to work with the public and to introduce them to Tamkeen’s various programmes and how to benefit from them, in addition to providing them with advice on how to use these programmes to develop their businesses and their careers."
