The Toyota Hilux AT38 used for North and South Poleexpeditions conquers the UAE desert for the very first time

Al-Futtaim Motors the exclusive distributor of Toyota vehicles in the UAE will unveil new additions to the refreshed Xtremeline-up that includes the forever tough Hilux, the agile FJ Cruiserand the legendary Land Cruiser-which has been available with ‘Xtreme’off road performance modifications since its initial launch back in 2009. Al Futtaim Motors exclusively commissioned the XtremeRange with Arctic Trucks, the Icelandic off-road modification specialists famous for re-engineering cars to go to places they have never been before.

As a celebration of the 2012 Xtreme range, Al-Futtaim Motors flew in the unbeatable Hilux AT38, used by the popular British TV show BBC Top Gear in its adventure to the Magnetic North Pole in 2007, where it carried the film crew 1400 kilometers, over sea ice, bolder fields and number of small islands. The same Hilux was also driven in 2010 by a group of scientists to Iceland’s “Eyjafjallajökull” volcano during the time of its infamous eruption.

The Hilux AT38 made its first UAE appearance at the acclaimed Motoring Middle East Meet on 15 June 2012 and will remain with Al-Futtaim Motors for the next two months where it will be taken into a road show across the emirates.
