National Bank of Oman’s (NBO) 2020 Al Kanz Savings Account Scheme is well underway, with OMR 3.251 million in prize money to be given away over the course of the year. OMR 590,500 has already been handed over to customers in the first quarter alone. Over the three months, six lucky winners were given OMR 25,000 each as part of the quarterly draw, while nine winners were rewarded each with OMR 25,000 in the exclusive monthly Sadara draw. 90 winners were given OMR 500 each in the Salary Transfer draw, 15 Badeel cardholders won OMR 2,000 each, and 12 Mazaya account holders won OMR 10,000 each in the account’s exclusive monthly draws. Additionally, 205 Youth customers also won OMR 100 each.

Under the theme “For a Better Tomorrow”, this year’s scheme will see even more winners rewarded over the year with several new segments. The re-introduction of the quarterly regional draw will see 24 customers win a total of OMR 600,000 by the end of the year, while the bank has increased the frequency of its popular Mazaya draws from quarterly to monthly. A new segment has been created for account holders who also hold a Badeel prepaid card, and an exclusive Youth draw has also been added to the exciting National Day draw, giving OMR 100 to 50 Youth account holders. Additionally, Omani Women’s Day will be celebrated with a special Women’s draw of OMR 500 each for 50 customers.

John Chang, General Manager and Chief Retail Banking Officer at NBO, said “We have enhanced the 2020 scheme to tap into different segments, to try and make a difference to as many lives as possible. Getting bigger year after year, the Al Kanz Savings scheme offers many ways for customers to make their financial dreams a reality. The first quarter’s draws have already been announced, and we look forward to rewarding even more customers throughout 2020, while continuing to offer all the convenience and benefits of our products and services.”

The biggest pay out is the half-yearly Mega draw, which will see four customers win a total of OMR 1 million. The draws will be held in June and December, each rewarding two winners with OMR 250,000 each. For the rest of the year, exclusive draws will also be conducted for Sadara account holders, giving away OMR 25,000 each to 21 winners over the remaining months, and a Youth draw, giving away OMR 100 to 205 winners in September. On top of that, 30 winners will be given OMR 500 every month in the Salary Transfer draws, which will be held in addition to the exclusive Mazaya draw giving away OMR 10,000 each to 36 winners and National day draw giving away OMR 1000 each to 50 winners.

Customers can get the chance to win big by maintaining an average minimum balance of OMR 100 in their Al Kanz Savings Account as well as also applying for a Badeel prepaid card. Every OMR 100 provides an extra chance in the draw, so the more money kept in the account, the more the chance of winning. Eligibility for the Salary Transfer draw is as easy as transferring your salary to NBO. Al Kanz is just one way NBO goes the extra mile to support and guide its customers throughout their financial growth and help them form the habit of becoming regular savers.
