Xerox Corporate Golf challenge ‘Tees Off’ the fourth qualifying round in Saudi Arabia
Xerox, the leading enterprise for business process and document management and organiser of the 15th Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge (XCGC), is pleased to announce the fourth qualifying round of the tournament, taking place on April 4 at the Rolling Hills Golf Club in Saudi Aramco, Dhahran.
The Rolling Hills Golf Club in Dhahran began as a basic 18-hole course in the sand and was originally built by workers at the oil giant Saudi Aramco in the late 1940’s. The original course moved changed location and was reopened in 2004 as an 18-hole grass course, the first of its kind in the Eastern province.
Due to significant demand and interest in participation, the Rolling Hills will be hosting two shot gun events to accommodate the 100 teams (200 players) in the fourthround of the tournament, which has been twice named ‘Best Corporate Golf Event in the Middle East’.
The tournament is supported by main sponsors Avis Rent a Car and ABB, who have been associated with XCGC for two years. Co-sponsors also supporting the tournament include ECCO, the ‘nearest the pin’ and ‘longest drive’ sponsor, Crystal Gallery, the trophy sponsor, and Khaleej Times as the media sponsor, who have been associated with the tournament for more than 10 years.
The Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge is also supported by Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel and Villas as the Hotel Sponsor and Golf Digest, the Official Magazine Sponsor for the past two years. New additions to this year’s competition is Dubai Golf, who manages the tournament, Scorpio Golf as the Supplier Sponsor and VPAR, who is providing the UAE qualifying rounds and grand final with live golf scoring technology.
“Each round of this challenge has brought forward exceptional players and many unparalleled golfing experiences. We’ve received significant interest in participating from the Kingdom, as the award-winning Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge heads to Saudi Arabia. We’re excited about the increasing number of golfers and look forward to welcoming the winners of this round in the Grand Final,” said Abeer Safa, Marketing Manager, Xerox Emirates.
The Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge, which is a sporting event held in all GCC countries and this year includes South Africa, consists of 11 qualifying rounds. Winners of all qualifying rounds will participate in the grand finals which will be held in its new location, the Emirates Golf Club, on October 23. Winners of the grand final will get the chance to play in the PRO AM category of the 2013 DP World Tour Dubai Championship.
