The Qatari Minister of Energy and Industry, Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiya, reported Al-Raya newspaper, recently revealed that the State of Qatar is targeting 30 million tons gas exports per annum.

The minister added, “we can reach this target in the medium term, especially since we have made tremendous achievements as far as the gas industry and the related infrastructure facilities are concerned.”

Al-Attiya also said that exploring new gas export markets, such as India, will help Qatar enlarge its gas exports to 30 million tons.

Al-Attiya asserted that the Qatari energy and basic industries sector allured $28 billion worth of foreign investments over the past 7-8 years.

These investments consist of joint ventures with multinational companies. The minister related the inflow of foreign investments into Qatar to the country’s political stability and high levels of technology and infrastructure. –(Albawaba-MEBG)
