National flag carrier Qatar Airways has added a new destination to its expanding route network with the inaugural non-stop service to Tripoli.

On board the Airbus A300-600 with a three-class layout, was a delegation of senior Qatar Airways’ staff, led by General Manager Commercial Mohamed Saleh Fakhri; and Regional Manager Qatar and Africa, Fathi Al-Shehab. The delegation included invited representatives of the local press.

The thrice-weekly flights to Tripoli will continue on to Casablanca, Morocco’s commercial and tourism capital, offering a direct service between Doha and the two major North African cities.

Tripoli, the land of three cities, has been a trading post for more than 2,000 years and has much to offer its visitors. Full of history, tradition and flanked by the Mediterranean Sea on the one side and the Sahara desert on the other, the city is the starting point for both, tourists and business travelers to Libya.

Tripoli is Qatar Airways fourth destination on the African continent, and the 45th destination on the airline’s international route network. — (menareport.com)
