Invitations to attend the World Trade Organization (WTO) fourth ministerial meeting, which is to be held in Doha, Qatar, from November 9 until 13, were recently distributed, according to the Qatari undersecretary of commerce, Shaikh Hamad Bin Faisal Al-Thani, who was commissioned to head the summit organizing committee.
According to Al-Hayat daily, Al-Thani maintained that most preliminary preparations for the summit have been completed, including a recent contract signed with the Qatar National Hotels Company providing 135 busses to transport the anticipated 4,500 to 5,000 participants of the event.
The planned hosting of the WTO ministerial meeting in Qatar has already proved controversial as the Gulf state has strict laws on public assembly. Qatari authorities, however, have vowed to permit law-abiding protests. ― (MENA Report)
