Qatar Gas receives ISO 9002 and 14001 awards

The Qatari Liquefied Natural Gas Limited Company (Qatar Gas) has recently received the ISO 9002 and 14001 environmental awards, reported Al-Raya daily. Earlier, the company held a ceremony celebrating this event. 

 

The director general of the company, Faisal Suweidy, said that his company implements its quality programs and plans based on international standards, specifications and laws. Furthermore, the company has pledged to promote the environmental standards in coordination with the ministry of agriculture and municipality affairs.  

 

Suweidy asserted that the company’s gas prices have been influenced positively by the international rise in oil prices. He added, that Qatar Gas is planning to produce 6,700,000 tons of gas this year. The country exports its gas mainly to Japan, Europe and America. By the end of the present year, the company will begin an internal expansion project, which will increase its liquefied gas output to 8.5 million tons annually. –(Albawaba-MEBG)
