Qatar’s gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to a record $34.37 billion in 2005, showing an impressive 20.8 per cent growth over the previous year.
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce said initial indicators pointed that the economy was projected to be buoyant in the foreseeable future. The growth rate was likely to be maintained in the future, Peninsula reported.
As for GDP, the fourth and last quarter of last year saw the maximum growth at $9.6 billion, compared to the third quarter (Q3) figure of $4.9 billion.
