According to Al-Hayat newspaper (March 12, 2002), the Qatari Minister of Treasury, Yossuf Kamal, revealed that the new budget proposal will be presented to the cabinet for debate on March 20. The minister added that the Qatari Emir, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, promised his citizens to begin working on numerous economic development projects in the country over next fiscal year in infrastructure, health and education projects. The minister also said that ongoing gas and petroleum projects will continue to operate regardless of the international oil price volatility. — (menareport.com)
