Qatar's per capita income has amounted to impressive $40,000 per year, the Minister of Economy and Commerce, Sheikh Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Thani, stated on Monday.

Speaking on the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) at the Diplomatic Club, the minister said, according to The Peninsula: "We enjoy one of the highest gross domestic product (GDP) per capita at almost $40,000". He said exports were advancing at an annual rate of 10 per cent.

It be mentioned that Qatar was declared the richest Arab country when per capita income was close to $33,000 a few months ago. Now, with a per capita income of $40,000 per year Qatar should be ranked among first three to four countries with highest per capita income in the world.
