The new house rent law requires some more clauses that would prevent it from being abused by landlords, Qatari nationals and expatriates, told the Peninsula.
In a survey, most locals and expatriates welcomed the new law that puts a ceiling of 10 per cent over the annual hike in rents. They said, the law would help stabilize the local housing market after rents went too high during the last few months.
