The Qatar National Cement Company (QNCC) forecasts its sales to surpass 1.5 million tons of cement in 2003, a 200,000 tons increase compared to figures from 2002, revealed company estimates.
QNCC, owned jointly by the government and private shareholders, expects a significant net profit increase for 2003 and predicts sales of approximately two million tons of cement in 2004.
QNCC was established in 1965 with a production capacity of 100,000 tons per year. The company utilizes local raw materials such as limestone, clay and gypsum and has its production plant in Umm Bab. Its products are used extensively in the local market for construction, steel production and water treatment. QNCC also exports its products. — (menareport.com)
