Regus announces first franchise in the Middle East

Regus has signed a franchise agreement with the HAK Group in the Middle East. Under the agreement, signed between HAK CEO Khalid Hassan Algahtani and Regus CEO Mark Dixon, HAK will build and operate 15 Regus business centers throughout the region, a company release disclosed.  


The first HAK franchised Regus center will open in Riyadh early in 2002 and will provide businesses looking to locate to Riyadh with meeting rooms, offices and an executive’s lounge. Furthermore, Regus will be offering a women's only business center, catering to the needs of the local business community. All new centers are expected to become be operational by 2006.  


Regus is a business center operator with more than 390 centers in 50 countries, including centers in Dubai and Egypt. The company’s new initiative will provide Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Lebanon, Syria, Oman, Qatar, Jordan, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with centers. Regus provides meeting rooms, conference and training facilities and public access videoconferencing studios.  


The HAK Group was established in 1967. The Group's business activities include transportation and shipping, tourism, manufacturing, real estate development, international joint ventures and information technology. The company is headquartered in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia, and has offices in Europe, the US and Africa. — (
