ALBAWABA - Samsung has added a new feature to its health application for medication tracking, expected to be launched in the United States in the upcoming update this week.
Samsung announced that this new feature will enable users to set reminders for medication schedules and receive notifications for medication refill appointments with their doctors.
According to the company, when entering a new medication into the application, users can record the shape and color of the medication, along with information about the prescribed dosage and the scheduled time for taking the medication. Samsung noted that the information within the app is supported by evidence-based and licensed content from Elsevier, a specialized medical content publishing company.
To use this new medication tracking tool, a smartphone must be running at least Android 8.0.
According to Samsung, this feature will provide an overview of medication usage and potential side effects, including warnings about contraindications.
