Samsung launches new smart card offerings to Middle East

Korean information technology provider, Samsung launched a new smart card solution in the Middle East region. Samsung provides three new products - a 64KB fully compliant JavaCard, a low cost fully functional Loyalty Card and Samsung's Fast Track System which provides a Biometric smart card based advanced border control solution.  

 

The platform of these new cards enable the addition and deletion of applications, which is by far the de facto standard adopted by vertical industry sectors in the smart card world. 

 

Samsung Jate JavaCard is a Card with multiple key issuers. It is totally compliant with the relevant Java card Standards - Javacard 2.1.2, Visa Open Platform and international certified card standard – Europay, Mastercard, and Visa (EMV). The JavaCard is equipped with a high memory chip enabling it's Card Operating Systems to run four times faster than equivalent cards.  

 

Shopsmart Loyalty Card works with a PC-ready card reader, which can download reward items across the Internet as well as at merchant retail terminals. These reward points would be redeemable from participating vendors at the point of sale.  

 

Fast Track System is a complete smart card based biometric registration and border control solution providing fingerprint, facial recognition, signature enrolment and card issuing all in one environment. Combined with the capture station, which can be used as an automated gate Entry/Exit system, Samsung SDS provides the flexibility of integrating this Fast Track system into existing airport or border/access control environments.
