Saudi Arabia sent more than 150 tons of relief supplies to help earthquake victims in Iran.

Five Saudi relief planes have arrived in Iran so far carrying food, medical supplies, tents, and blankets for the victims of the powerful earthquake that hit the city of Bam in southeastern Iran.

According to Saudi Ambassador to the US Prince Bandar Bin Sultan, "The aid was sent at the directive of King Fahd and Crown Prince Abdullah, and is in accord with the Kingdom's policy of helping others in their hour of need. Our efforts are coordinated closely with the Iranian authorities."

In addition, Saudi Arabia dispatched a medical team to Bam composed of personnel from the Saudi Red Crescent Society and the Ministry of Health. — (menareport.com)
