The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz made on Wednesday a telephone call to Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

During the phone conversion, they reviewed the Saudi-Chinese strategic relations and the bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various fields as well as the latest regional and international developments, SPA said.

King Salman praised the effectiveness of the Saudi-Chinese economic coordination, reflecting the strong strategic ties between the two countries, it said.

According to the SPA, the Chinese President pointed to the development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Riyadh and Beijing and their permanent coordination on international and regional issues of common interest.

Xi also stressed his country's keenness to exert further joint efforts to open new horizons for friendship and strategic relations, SPA added.
