According to Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper (June 14, 2005), the weekly index of the Saudi Ministry of Justice reported that SR 1.242 billion ($331 million) worth of real estate deals were signed in Saudi Arabia last week, including Riyadh, Holy City of Medinah and Dammam.
The same source added that 1,032 real estate transactions, valued SR 1.167 billion ($311 million), were signed in Riyadh. It added that 165 deals, valued SR 75 million ($19 million) were signed in Dammam. Local real estate specialists anticipate a rise in the real estate transactions by the end of June, which comes before the summer season, which is characterized by trade suspension.
