Al-Watan newspaper quoted data on investments in Egypt by Saudi Arabia during the first nine months of 2005 as published in a report by the government Investments Authority. These investments totaled EP 27 billion, in a total of 743 Egyptian companies. Saudi Arabians invested EP 2.7 billion in 378 industrial factories in Egypt in the fields of textiles, food processing, chemical manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, wood and metal products, and engineering. Saudi Arabia invested EP 403 million in 115 agriculture companies.
