A senior source in the Tunisian Industry Ministry, reported Al-Hayat newspaper, recently revealed that Tunisia is planning to build a second oil refinery.
This new refinery, supported by the private sector, will be built in the Al-Sukhaira region in the center of Tunisia.
The same source added that the only operating oil refinery in Tunisia, built in the city of Benzart in the sixties, is no longer able to satisfy the domestic consumption.
The investment costs of the new refinery are assessed at MD 150 million ($100 million). –(Albawaba-MEBG)
