Morocco's Omnium Nord-Africain (ONA) mining affiliate Semafo has revealed that tests on the Wona and Nyaf deposits in Burkina Faso represent the two most developed gold mineralized structures located on the Mana property.
The results of the tests show that cyanide leaching could easily be used to extract the gold from the oxidized mineralized material at Wona. An average recovery of 93 percent ranging from 86 to 98 percent up to a maximum vertically tested depth of 65 meters was recorded.
During the last RC drilling campaign carried out in 2002 on the Wona and Nyafי structures, a total of 91 samples were collected, from the Wona gold mineralized structure and a total of 23 from the Nyafי structure.
Each sample was recovered from the original RC cuttings stored at the site and represented increments of five meters or less from the recognized mineralized intersections. The samples were then shipped to Reminex-Managem metallurgical research facilities in Marrakech, Morocco where the bottle roll tests were completed.
Semafo is a publicly traded exploration and mining company. The Company operates in West Africa where it has a mine in production in the Kiniero Mine in Guinea. Two projects are also under development at Samira Hill in Niger and Mana in Burkina Faso. — (menareport.com)
