In a 62-35 vote, the U.S. Senate passed a $410 billion bill that will be sent to President Obama for signing. The measure comes after the White House estimated that the deficit would likely be a hefty $1.8 trillion this year. Much of the spending included in this piece of legislation includes increases in food aid for the poor, alternative energies research, and other programs.
