The Municipality of Sharjah has granted food factories under its governance a grace period until the end of this year to adopt the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) food hygiene monitor system. The municipality has offered to provide training to companies requiring knowledge on the system, said a government statement.
HACCP is a pro-active process control system by which food quality is ensured. This system has been adopted by many countries around the world and is mandatory in some states. Recently introduced to the food industry in the Arab world, the HACCP monitors any biological, physical or chemical dangers that might occur during food preparation. — (menareport.com)
