Siemens AG awarded power station deal in Algeria

Siemens AG (Germany) group was awarded Monday the contract to build a power station in Berrouaghia (Médéa), following the opening of financial bids, which took place in Algiers.  

 

According to APS, two other firms participated in the tender - SNC-Lavalin (Canada) and Alstom consortium (France and Algeria).  

 

The gas turbine station of SKB (The electricity company of Berrougahia), with a power of 400 to 500 megawatts (MW) is endowed with new technologies and should start operations in 2006, according to Sonelgaz CEO.  

 

The building of the new station follows the construction of F'kirina station in Ain El Beida (Oum El Bouaghi) which boasts 300 MW and which will be inaugurated on October 14. (menareport.com)
