Siemens Mobile Algeria hopes to triple the number of its facilities installed as well as to triple its number of subscribers. Peter Donnerbaeur, director general of Siemens Algeria has been quoted in several local Algerian newspapers as saying the number of subscribers is due to reach 10 million, say a 30% market share, as opposed to 10% at the moment with only 3.4 million subscribers.
Donnerbaeur conveyed the rapid growth of the market is linked to the reduction of chip and component prices and the offer of more attractive deals. In separate reports, the Algerian minister of communications requested from German Chancellor Gerard Schroder that Siemens representatives step up the pace of network infrastructure in order to improve all round service.
