The Algerian company Sonatrach won on Thursday November 18 an international trophy by the World Petrol Institute. The Algerian minister of energy and mines, Chakib Khelil, attended the ceremony as well as Mme Gisèle Rulman, and representatives of the diplomatic corps and business community.
The Institute is based in Geneva and has 700 members spread over 69 nations, making the award very prestigious with commercial and strategic value.
Chakib Khelil emphasized the significance of the award in the development of Algeria's burgeoning petrochemical industry which accounts for the vast majority of Algeria's foreign currency earnings. The Algerian petrochemical is considered to have considerable potential growth potential.
