The Dubai-based Cupola Group will open another Spinney’s supermarket store in the Achrafieh region of Beirut. The $4.5 million grocery store will have a sales floor of 2,000 square meters, a food court and parking for 250 cars, reported Lebinvest.
Cupola previously announced plans to invest $20 million into a number of new supermarkets in Lebanon under the Spinneys name, by the end of 2002. Cupola has maintained a Spinneys outlet since 1988 in the Dbayyeh area north of Beirut. According to Cupola, the outlet increased its sales by 17 percent this year and is currently being expanded to 8,500 square meters.
Cupola said that the Achrafieh outlet will carry a wider range of French products directly imported by Spinneys. New Spinneys supermarkets are scheduled to open starting in 2002 in the Jnah area of Beirut, Hazmieh, Jounieh, Sidon and Tripoli. — (menareport.com)
