State Street Global Advisors, the investment management arm of State Street Corporation has hired Peter Lert as a principal to serve as a portfolio manager and product engineer in the Global Enhanced Equity area. Lert will report to Sean Flannery, SSgA senior principal and director of Product Engineering.
Lert joins SSgA from Fidelity Investments in Boston, where he was vice president for Strategic Services. For 10 years, he also served as manager of Trading Analysis Services, a quantitative research leadership role in which he developed trading performance measures and implementation strategies. Prior to his career with Fidelity, he was an equity research analyst with Batterymarch Financial Management in Boston. Lert began his career at MIT in the Department of Chemistry in 1979, and holds a PhD in Theoretical Chemistry from University of California, San Diego, as well as a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of Virginia.
