The Geneva-based financial group SYZ & CO announced the launch of a Middle East market initiative through the appointment of Ibrahim A. Mardam-Bey as senior representative for the Middle East. Mardam-Bey will act as a strategic advisor to the SYZ & CO Group for the development and implementation of a Middle East strategy.
A growing demand for alternative products in the Middle East has been identified by SYZ & CO, and this trend has been amplified by the recent events of September 11, 2001. “Investors are attracted by the unique features provided by alternative products: the ability to generate stable returns—even in the adverse market conditions we have seen in the past two years—and a low correlation with traditional investments that provides true diversification,” said Radan Statkow, head of Business Development and Client Relations for 3Aalternative Asset Advisors, the alternative investment division of SYZ & CO.
Tailor-made turnkey solutions will be provided to an institutional clientele SYZ & CO will target institutional clients in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Kuwait, Qatar and Lebanon. The group is also considering the establishment of a regional presence that would provide marketing; training and sales support base for the group in the increasingly important and rapidly developing Middle East region.

SYZ & CO will aim its efforts at key investment decision-makers across the region, private family offices, banks, institutions, pension funds and IFA firms.
