A study prepared by the Syrian Central Bureau of Statistics in cooperation with the UN Developmental Program and the State Planning Commission indicated that 11.4 % live under the poverty line in Syria, al-Thawra daily said Thursday.
The study showed that 10.4 % of the Syrians live with less than US$2 per day and 0.3 % with less than US$ 1 per day. The annual rate of unemployment is 8.2 % and the rate of unemployment among the poor is 12%.
