Syria's Minister of Information Dr. Saadullah Agha al-Qala’a said Sunday he expected that the number of tourists in the country during 2004 will amount to 2.5 million.
In a lecture he delivered Sunday as part of the 2nd Culture Week sponsored by the Tourist Guides Association, al-Qala’a said that Syria's revenues from tourism reached US$ 1,4 billion in 2003.
He added that 1.17 million people visited or came to the country in the first half last year. (menareport.com)
