Director General of the Euphrates Dam General Company Rashid Jahjah on Wednesday said that the volume of the generated electricity power for 2004 so far exceeded by 1 billion KW/h the production of 2003.
According to him, the increase is a result of heavy rains and the thawing of snow in the Turkish Ciban Dam.
In the first nine months of 2004, electricity power generated from Euphrates Hydro-electric Dams amounted to 3,240 million KW/h including 1,970 million KW/h of Euphrates Dam Plant, 266 million KW/h of al-Baath Dame Plant and 1,031 million KW/h of Tishrin Dam Plant.
