Syria and Tunisia have signed an agreement to explore oil in the North Eastern part of Syria hoping the outcome would be positive and get good oil returns. Syria's Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources headed by Dr. Ibrahim Haddad inked the accord with Tareq Boushmawi, the Tunisian Company Director of the J. B. S. International Limited.
The Tunisian firm will search for oil and gas in the so called region n.22 in Raqqa governorate, Eastern Syria over an area totaling 497, 412 Cubic KM.
Director of the Tunisian company hoped the research result would be positive and would bring a good returns for both sides, pointing out that the risk element is big because of preliminary studies held earlier.
