If you thought Smart Fridges were too much, how about a smart water bottle? LifeFuels, a brand new company, has announced a water bottle with a built in color screen.
This smart nutrition bottle does a lot more than just measure your water intake, but also adds flavors to your water. The bottle adds pre-measured amounts of concentrated supplements and flavors to the water inside, which can be stored in the space inside the lid for five different fuel pods. It also has Bluetooth support which will keep you updated on exactly how much water you drank during the day.
The water bottle comes with a smartwatch sized display lodged in the center of the bottle, with a pair of buttons underneath it to select supplements and subsequently order them into your drink. The screen and motors work together for dropping supplements and can be recharged wirelessly, which will have to be done every couple of days. The company has struck deals with 40 different drink brands, and will come with a variety of vitamin supplements and flavorings like coconut water. The smart bottle also pairs to popular health and fitness apps including FitBit, MyFitnessPal and Apple Health, sharing nutrition and water intake facts. It looks like any normal protein shaker, but it is quite heavy, due to the supplement pods and hardware.
While this is the company’s first product, it did not approach crowdfunding. In fact, the first round or preorders have sold out in the hundreds and the team is now taking preorders for a second round. The company is also aiming at a much higher retail launch later this year. The initial pricing is set at around $195.
