Thuraya has signed a distribution agreement for its mobile satellite services in the Syrian Arab Republic, with Hamsho Communications.

The Distribution agreement between Thuraya and Hamsho Communications was signed Tuesday, February 20, in Damascus by Thuraya Chairman Mohammad Omran and Mohammad Hamsho, general manager of Hamsho Communications.

According to the agreement, Hamsho will have the rights to distribute and market Thuraya's mobile satellite services and products throughout the Syrian Arab Republic, including user terminals and SIM cards.

Omarn noted that the Syria is a key market for Thuraya services. "We aim to complement the existing terrestrial telecommunications network through the complete border-to-border coverage that the Thuraya system provides from day one of its commercial operation," he added.

Through the partnership with Thuraya, Hamsho will be able to offer satellite-enhanced communication solutions for various sectors — public entities, businesses, and residential communities in remote and rural areas. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
