According to Al-Ittihad newspaper (June 22, 2005), the Chief Statistics Bureau in Dubai reported that the total land exchanges in the Emirate of Dubai amounted to Dh 8 billion in the first quarter of the current year.
The same source added that 1,486 buildings were executed in the Emirate in the same period including investment, residential and leisure buildings. The bureau estimated the Emirate's population at 1,068,000 in the first quarter of 2005, of whom 803,000 males which is equivalent to (74%) and 283,000 which is equivalent to (26%) females.
