ALBAWABA - Former U.S. President and current Republican candidate Donald Trump has issued a threat to sue Google, alleging that the tech giant is manipulating its search results to benefit Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.
Trump, who is running in the upcoming November election, made these claims in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social.
According to Trump, Google's search algorithm prioritizes negative coverage of him while highlighting positive stories about Harris, an action he described as "illegal."
He further stated that, should he win the election, he would urge the U.S. Department of Justice to file a lawsuit against Google for what he called "blatant interference" in the electoral process.
"This is illegal activity," Trump said in his statement.
Trump’s remarks appear to be in response to a report by the conservative Media Research Center, which alleges that Google’s search algorithm disproportionately favors Kamala Harris over Trump.
Google has strongly denied the accusations, maintaining that its algorithm is neutral and not designed to favor any political candidate.
