Tunisian Minister of Petroleum Munsef Bin Abdullah recently stated that Tunisia’s crude oil production will rise to four million tons in 2002, up from 3.6 million tons in 2001, reported Al-Sharq Al-Awsat.
The Tunisian official attributed this growth to the opening of the Izis field in the southern Tunisian Gulf of Qabes next year. The minister added that Tunisian crude petroleum output decreased by 3.2 percent in 2001, compared with last year’s output, due to diminishing reserves of already exploited oil fields. — (menareport.com)
