Turkish appliance maker Arcelik has recently won a tender to acquire France’s household appliance manufacturer, Brandt, a division of Moulinex company, which was put up for sale last year.

Together with its recent acquisition of the Austrian Elektra Bregenz firm and French company Blomberg, the new Brandt tender gives Arcelik a sizeable position in the European industrial market, reported Milliyet . In terms of unit production, Arcelik is currently one of the seven largest white goods manufacturers in Europe.

Headquartered in Istanbul, Arcelik is the largest private-sector industrial corporation in Turkey, manufacturing refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers, vacuum cleaners and air conditioners. Marketing of Arcelik products is under the Beko and Arcelik brand names.

Arcelik and its subsidiaries are part of the Koç Group, the largest conglomerate in Turkey. The company now exports one-third of the major appliances it produces, with 75 percent of exports sold to the European Union. — (menareport.com)
