Turkey pays off $755 million of its external debt

Turkey’s Treasury will pay of $755 million of its external debt by the end of next week. A payment of $421 million was deposited Monday, $19.8 million was transferred today with rest to be paid off by Friday, reported Hurriyet. Since January, the treasury has paid baci $228 million of its external debt. 

 

Turkey’s treasury reported that the state’s debt, both domestic and foreign increased by $14.7 billion in the first quarter of 2002, reaching $138.3 billion by the end of March. Foreign debt alone increased to $9.6 billion, reported Cumhuriyet<. — (menareport.com)
