Turkish Airlines (THY) recently announced it will buy two more airplanes from the American Boeing company before the end of March, reported the official Anatolia news agency. The two aircraft are the final purchases stipulated in a contract that was signed by the airline and Boeing in 1997, which confirmed the sale of 26 planes to THY.

THY flies to 113 destinations with a fleet of 73 planes. The airline carried a total of 12 million passengers in 2000, including 6.4 million domestic, 5.1 million international, 116,000 pilgrimage and 402,000 charter passengers. — (menareport.com)
