The UAE’s expenditure forecast for 2006 is estimated to hit AED 27.52 bn with revenue expected to amount to AED 25.49 billion, leaving the government with a deficit of AED 2.03 billion. According to a recently published report, 2005 was the first year in 24 years where the government ran a surplus.
For FY2005, expenditure is estimated to reach AED 17.6 billion, while expected revenue is set to peak at AED 18.6 billion.
