Emirati-based National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC), posted a net profit of 132.5 million dirhams ($36 million) in 2001, a 154 percent increase compared to figures from the previous year. The company has declared a dividend of Dh 35 per share, the same as last year, reported Gulf News.
The company's revenues went up to Dh 479.6 million from Dh 330.8 million in 2000 while revenue costs reached Dh 349 million in 2001 compared to Dh 282.2 million in 2000. Interest income fell to Dh 337.9 from Dh 2.7 million during the same period.
Established in 1979, NMDC is a public joint company, based in Abu-Dhabi. The company's main activities include the execution of dredging contracts and associated reclamation works in the territorial waters of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). — (menareport.com)
