Residents in UAE'S remote areas will see their neighbourhoods get bigger and better by the end of summer, the Minister of Public Works said Tuesday. Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works, told Gulf News "We are preparing development plans for these areas and the groundwork will take place between the end of July and beginning of August. We are working as fast as we can because we understand that residents in these areas are in dire need of basic facilities and proper housing."

Shaikh Hamdan said there is a five-year plan for the development of these areas. "There is no end point for our work. People will always need additional houses, schools and other facilities. So we will never stop our work in these areas."

Studies are being done to develop comprehensive residential areas for residents in remote areas, the minister conveyed.
