The decision to limit rents at 15 percent will be discussed after December 2006, said Saeed Mohammad Al Kindi, Chairman of the Dubai Rent Committee.
According to Gulf News, he noted the need to build more apartments targeted at the mid-market segment to help curb the rent hikes. The goal behind capping the rent is to stabilize the market, he was quoted as saying.
