Gross domestic product (GDP) in the United Arab Emirates is forecast to grow a record 17 percent in 2000 on the back of increased oil prices, the central bank said in a report published Monday.
The report, carried by the official WAM news agency, did not publish any interim GDP figures for 2000. GDP increased 10 percent in 1999 to $51.77 billion, up from $47.14 billion in 1998, largely because of increased revenues from crude oil as well as manufacturing industries. — (AFP, Abu Dhabi)
