The 15 per cent capping on rent hikes imposed by the government last month is declining to curb growing rentals and help make accommodation more affordable, Khaleej Times reported. Landlords and estate agents are finding new ways to circumvent the ruling, it added.
The newspaper cited tenants of residential properties and office premises in Dubai and Sharjah, as well as real estate agents who all condemned the latest tactics.
